Week of 3/9/09
Dear Parents,
This week we will be studying the following in school: Reading – Lon Po Po, Writing (Personal Narrative), Math (Measurement), and in Social Studies (Economics). Please see the change in homework for this week due to projects. We have a meteorologist who will visit Tuesday. If your child struggles in reading see an attachment in his/her planner for a free computer program during the summer.

End of Grading Period, 3/18-3/25 Book fair, 3/26 Social Studies/Economics
Test (Ch.11-12), 3/26 Science Fair Finals at 6:30p.m. Shepherdsville Elementary,
3/26 Report Cards come home, 3/27 Modern Dance Assembly (2:30) during School
Day, 3/30-4/3 Spring Break-yahoo. 4/8 Early release, 4/21 Radio Disney Show
Assembly during school 2:15-3:15, 5/1 No School, 5/4-5/15 CATS Testing, 5/25
Memorial Holiday.
Homework for this week: Monday- Friday: Do Science Fair or Social Studies Projects, study for Economics Test, and Vocabulary words. Vocabulary words: Words can always be found prior to our reading story (Lon Po Po), in the Vocabulary story (in the reading text): delighted, dusk, embraced, latch, tender, brittle, and cunning. You do not have to complete the “homework sheet” this week.
