Week of 5/11/09

Dear Parents,

Thank you to Mr. Grigsby who coached our Relay for Life Basketball team; the kids did a great job! Our Chaperones for the Bats field trip are the following: Miranda’s grandfather, Parker’s mother, Crissa’s father, Adam’s mother, and Josh’s mom.

CATS testing is May 11-22. Bullitt County has decided to continue with this type of testing for our accountability. Meaning it is of the same importance to our county as always, and does determine future events for your child at this time. Please make sure the children get plenty of sleep each night and eat a good breakfast each morning. And have a number 2 pencil to work. You may also send in a calculator that your child is familiar with to check math assignments on the CATS test by Thursday.

I will not be sending mid-term reports home this quarter as it is the same thing you see when you go to infinite Campus; if you do not have computer access I will put the grades (as of now) in your child’s planner, just send me a note informing me of the need. We will be doing DRA tests throughout this week during our Language Arts block.

We are out of Kleenex and Paper Towel; if you can afford to donate some boxes to our room it would be greatly appreciated. We go through about 2 boxes per week so we’ll need about 16 boxes to get through the year.

Special Note: I wanted to take this opportunity to express my feelings to you concerning our school year. I love teaching and it is always my prayer that I can be the best teacher God has made in me. We have had a wonderful classroom family this year and it has been a joy to work with each of these children. They are a wonderful group! Parents, Thank you for working so well and cooperating with me this year; I really appreciate all you have done in the success of your child’s education. We need more parents like you who care.

Dates to remember: weekly until the end of the year - Multiplication Challenge w/Mr. Tipton (FireBear), 5/11-5/22 CATS Testing, 5/19 All Library Books returned to school, 5/25 Memorial Holiday, 5/26 ESMS Band Concert during school day, 5/27 Bats Field Trip, 5/28 Arts Fair, 6/1 Field Day, 6/3 Last Day for Students.

Homework for this week: No Homework this week except for studying Multiplication facts (due to testing).

Have a great week,

Mrs. Corbin
