Week of 5/18/09
Dear Parents,
We are at the end of the school year; our children still need paper, and pencil to do school work through to the last day of school. I am getting comments like, “We don’t have time,” and “My mom said they are not buying supplies this late in the year,” etc. Please buy your child paper and pencil if they need it, you can use any left over for the next school year, so it won’t be wasted.
CATS’ testing continues this week. Third Grade will only test Monday with make-up testing Tuesday and Wednesday for us. Other grades will test Tuesday and Wednesday so we will still need to be silent in the halls. We will be back on our regular homework schedule this week.
Our school library is closed as of Tuesday, 5/19. However, we can still take AR tests if we don’t have our 6 books of choice until Friday. This means you will have to go to Mrs. Weihe’s website, find titles that are AR books, and take your child to the public library and check out the book.
Chaperones for the Bats field trip are the following: Miranda’s grandfather, Parker’s mother, Crissa’s father, Adam’s mother, and Josh’s mom.
The multiplication challenge will continue throughout the year. Each child that receives 100% on Multiplication tests will have lunch in the room with me and we’ll watch a movie. In addition, each child that can be within 30 seconds of Fire Bear’s time and receive 100% will a piece a Native Jewelry made by Fire Bear

Special Note: I wanted to take this opportunity to express my feelings to you concerning our school year. I love teaching and it is always my prayer that I can be the best teacher God has made in me. We have had a wonderful classroom family this year and it has been a joy to work with each of these children. They are a wonderful group! Parents, Thank you for working so well and cooperating with me this year; I really appreciate all you have done in the success of your child’s education. We need more parents like you who care.
