Dear Parents,
Midterms come home today. Midterms are great because your child still has time to improve grades by working harder on specific subjects that may need attention, and by turning in assignments s/he may have lost etc. Also, our new behavior plan does not give reprimands for not turning work in… it will only reflect in the student’s grade. I put reading levels in the front of the planner last week. I like the students to read this level and higher to stretch their abilities. Also, this is the level his/her 4-6 books must come from as part of the reading grade to count.
Grandparent’s luncheon for our classroom will be Friday September 19, at 11:18. Grandparents wishing to have lunch will wait in the lobby after signing in at the office. After lunch they may take their grandchild to the book fair, and come to our classroom to share stories and receive a letter from their grandchild. I am asking they bring their favorite childhood story to share with their grandchild during the time after lunch. They should plan on being here with us from 11:18-12:20.
Fall Festival is Friday October 3, and our class has merged with Mrs. Haynes’ class for the Ring Toss game. We are asking that our children donate 2 liter sodas, and prizes for the game. Prizes can be individually wrapped candy, toys, snack cakes, etc. I will try and let you know our basket theme later this week. We will need a volunteer to put our baskets together for us.
Dates to remember: 9/19 Grandparent’s day, 9/30 Author Visits, 9/30 PM Reading Night in Library, 10/3 Fall Festival, 10/8 Early Release for students, 10/10 End of quarter, 10/20 Report Cards home, 10/22-10/24 No school for students, 10/31 Fieldtrip.
