Dear Parents,
Thank you to our Parent volunteers who helped on the field trip last Friday; the children had a great time. Our next trip will be in February to Gattiland to learn “Context Clues.”
This week we will be studying the following in school: Math (Time), Science (Earth Materials), Social Studies (Human Settlements/Regions), and the Chapter 5 test (156-185) will be this Friday.
Dates to remember: 10/27-11/7 Parent-Teacher Conferences, 11/4 No School election, 11/07 Ch.5 social Studies Test, 11/12 Early release students only, 11/14 Fire Bear comes to Third Grade, 11/26-28 Thanksgiving Holiday.
Homework for this week: Monday-Thursday: Do Think Link probe for Math and Reading. Vocabulary words 15 minutes each night, Study for Social Studies Test 15 minutes each night, Read 15 minutes each night and write a two sentence summary with Title, and Author, and telling what you did for homework: Have a parent sign and return to school in the morning. Vocabulary words: Words can always be found prior to our reading story (This week Balto), in the Vocabulary story (in the reading text): drifts, guided, splinters, telegraph, temperature, and trail.
I have added Think Link Learning probes to the homework assignment this week to be completed by NEXT Friday. Here are the steps to follow: 1. Go to http://assessment.discoveryeducation.com/login/ 2. Click on “Progress Zone.” 3. Type in login code. 4. It will ask for your name type it in as you do at school (first name. last name). The login code for Math is CE1796, and the login code for Reading is CE3074. I am giving you this week and next to finish this due to having to study for the Social Studies Test every night.
